1.
Enigma 04:59
A lifeless stare, so vacant Dense fog fills the mind Soft words… Soft words peel away Like the seas decay coarse stones to sand Holds off death's embrace A body so numb, a sanity overcome Soft words peeled away at the core of self Revealing forgotten embers dying The splinters of a fractured soul aflame Distant yearnings to brush off fear, persevere A glistening stare, so present A gaze so endearing and whole An incentive to find that place and compelled to see that face
2.
Stormgazer 08:37
Upon a precipice, overlooking the sea Sights set on the horizon, the sky starts to breathe The sun's rays dimming, encroaching clouds Empyrean forms dancing in the distance, a tempest upon it's verge Parabolic in nature The rains come and they go Resilient to the changes To reap the seeds you first must sow Deep in the core of the storm some will find Cascading thoughts tormenting whilst sublime Ravaging winds tempt one to riposte Elements care not for folly onslaughts Encased in turmoil, clutched by grief Stare into the cyclone What a sight to behold What a sight it still is - observed as a witness Released by turmoil, bearer of grief and despair I am the eye of the storm Now until forever Please do not feel forsaken We bear this storm together Side-by-side we walk our paths Forever progressing forwards
3.
The Path 06:04
As the first steps are taken Upon these hallowed grounds An overwhelming presence Sense of direction, unfound As one walks along the path Surrounded by the thoughts Who is the One who perceives The thing which these words around, weave Into the forest we go Heading forward as if there were no tomorrow The past a tome of lessons A denial manifest in repression Within and between these trees it is seen in an anomaly in reality Personality identity fallacy upon the pyre to burn for all eternity There are many routes on this path All of them, arduous tasks How can one, confined, envision The passage of pure concision? The face of the ones we seek Lie under every mask which weeps The imperative question to hold What to do when faced with a broken soul? Now that steps have been taken Untouched grounds, now familiar What's been left behind A vestigial afterthought
4.
Abscond 10:07
What does one do when faced with death? Eye-to-eye with nothingness Avoidance of the greatest scale When compared all things will pale What can one do when bound to fear? Knowing salvation's nowhere near Hopelessness is all that's known When bearing wounds still left unsewn What does one do when faced with the light? From a spark burning ever bright A glow so immense in form Encompassing a warmth, forlorn What be the point to turn your back? Just to face worlds of ever black To leave behind all that's been made Into the abyss you'll surely fade Hiding away from tears Isolation and emptiness are awaiting with their cold embrace A grasp so morbidly comforting With claws digging deeper and deeper Piercing holes from within, by which your love spills endlessly Upon desolate soils - places that you've never called home To abscond the soul Is to negate your self as whole An attraction to worthlessness and a yearning for one's own death Symbols of emergency Veiled and shrouded in secrecy Every last breath, closing in on death Running away can no longer be an option
5.
Salutations fellow being Welcome home It's been a while Since we've met Beckoning solitude As an imminent storm To shroud our sadness and hide our contempt A forest entrance beckons Seemingly yearning, reaching to grasp The final grains of broken souls, planted as seeds, allowed to regrow Lose your sense of self To see into the other side and with these visions You will never forget This cannot be faced alone Affinity, rooted deeper than bone I almost lost the purpose I gave my own life So you find yourself here now in our arms Sheltered from the passing storm Numb and shattered, bearing scars from your journey This place be can be your refuge Take your time, let your roots grow Into the soil - a place you can now call home Forever the grounds for us to flourish within But what will you give in return?

about

The thematic storyline of Mistchaser's debut album "Kairos" is of self-awareness and the process of reflection in an attempt to better oneself. The metaphor of this is the sudden awareness of an incoming storm and the making progress on a dangerous path up to the safety of a nearby forest.
